X-ray, or radiography, is the oldest and most common form of medical imaging. An X-ray machine produces a controlled beam of radiation, which is used to create an image of the inside of your body. This beam is directed at the area being examined. After passing through the body, the beam falls on a piece of film or a special plate where it casts a type of shadow. Different tissues in the body block or absorb the radiation differently. Dense tissue, such as bone, blocks most of the radiation and appears white on the film. Soft tissue, such as muscle, blocks less radiation and appears darker on the film. Often multiple images are taken from different angles so a more complete view of the area is available. The images obtained during X-ray exams may be viewed on film or put through a process called digitizing so that they can be viewed on a computer screen.
OUR FACILITY:
An ultrasound scan is a medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from the inside of your body. It's also known as sonography.
The technology is similar to that used by sonar and radar, which help the military detect planes and ships. An ultrasound allows your doctor to see problems with organs, vessels, and tissues without needing to make an incision.
Unlike other imaging techniques, ultrasound uses no radiation. For this reason, it's the preferred method for viewing a developing fetus during pregnancy.
OUR FACILITY:
Most people associate ultrasound scans with pregnancy. These scans can provide an expectant mother with the first view of her unborn child. However, the test has many other uses.
Your doctor may order an ultrasound if you are having pain, swelling, or other symptoms that require an internal view of your organs. An ultrasound can provide a view of the: Bladder, Brain (in infants), Eyes, Gallbladder, kidneys, Liver, Ovaries, Pancreas, Spleen, Thyroid, Testicles, Uterus, Blood vessels.
An ultrasound is also a helpful way to guide surgeons' movements during certain medical procedures, such as biopsies.
A DEXA scan is a special type of X-ray that measures bone mineral density (BMD). DEXA stands for "dual energy X-ray absorptiometry". This type of scan may also be called: a DXA scan or a bone density scan.
During the examination, you are required to change into light cloths and remove all jewelry. The technician guides you in taking the right position in front of the X-ray receiving plate. Depending upon the target body part, you may be asked to lie down or stand to facilitate the report.

A mammography, or mammogram, is an X-ray of the breast. It's a screening tool used to detect and diagnose breast cancer. Together with regular clinical exams and monthly breast self-examinations, mammograms are a key element in the early diagnosis of breast cancer.
